Dispatches: Children of Gaza wins One World

Chidlren of Gaza won the One World Children's Award, narrowly beating Lost Girls of South Africa. In a ceremony on Tuesday evening Children of Gaza was declared the winner of the Children's Rights Award and the One World Media Awards. This award is especially significant as it is judged not by media professionals, but by a jury of young people still at school, who compete in a national competition to be on the jury. We were particularly honoured this year to get two of the three nominations.

Dear True Vision, I'm sitting at my desk in Cyprus where I work for World Vision International, for the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Central Asia Region. Last week, I met a colleague from Pakistan who was sharing more about the kids we are working with who are working in Tanneries, Brick Kilns, and start carpet weaving by the age of 3, and have twisted spines by the time they are nine. How can I work with you? Maia Woodward, maia_woodward@wvi.org
